Bettie Jean Allison

Bettie Jean Allison, 70, of Rutherfordton died on Monday, November 27. 2023 in Asheville, NC.  She was born in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Henry Street and Grace Shelton.

She was preceded in death by her brother’s Otis, Doug, Jimmy, and Joe, and Stepfather Marion Shelton.

Bettie was an incredibly hard worker her entire life. More recently opened an antique store. Where she was able to do something, she loved. Antiquing was a passion of hers. Old things and finding deals. Loved her family especially her grandsons. Also, a Christian with a generous heart always doing what she could to help all her friends. She was the most selfless mother and friend, loved by everyone that met her, doing things for people was her passion, like volunteering in her community, delivering goodies from Barbers Orchard to widows. She loved her hometown of Forest City, but she was most happy in her home in Whitter with her daughter and grandsons.

She is survived by her daughter, Brandi Allison, grandsons, Aidan Allison, and Liam Greene. Brother, Michael Street; sister, Reba, and sister-in-law Kim Loftis.

A memorial service will be held at Hyatt’s Chapel Church on Camp Creek Road in Whittier. On Saturday, December the 9^th. Service at 12pm in the afternoon, with visitations 11am-12pm prior to service.

The care of Mrs. Allison has been entrusted to A Simple Cremation.
