Carl Puskarcik of Sylva, North Carolina passed away on August 25, 2024 at age 73. He was born on April 16, 1951 to Carl and Helen Puskarcik. Born on Helen’s birthday; she always said he was her favorite birthday present.
Carl was full of life and loved deeply. A Campbell Memorial High School graduate and Class of 1969 prom king, he cherished friends and family and appreciated music, dancing and ethnic food. Carl dedicated 31 years to public service as a lifeguard and marine safety officer in Hollywood, Florida. He began to travel the world at a young age, and never stopped exploring. Carl's enthusiasm for life was infectious, and his spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Carl and the love of his life, Luann, married on January 14, 1994. They built a beautiful life together, expressing their love for each other every day and holding true to their promise to never go to bed angry.
Carl and Luann created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, adventure, and cherished memories. A paradise in the mountains, always open to family and friends.
Carl is survived by his wife, Luann Hoose Puskarcik, and their furbabies Peter and Poppy, his sisters Joann Puskarcik (Roy) Morsch, Sandra Puskarcik (Dave) McKee, Denise Burris (Tom Peluso), brother- and sister-in-law Bob and Jan Issacson, and sisters-in-law Cindy French and Joy Elrod. He also leaves nieces and nephews Ron, Karla, Ryan M., Kristen, Kyle, Todd, Ryan E., Dakota, and Logan.
He joins his father (Carl), mother (Helen) and brothers (Ronald and Kenny) in heaven.
At Carl’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. The family invites contributions to Four Seasons Hospice of Flat Rock, NC, in lieu of flowers.
