Dennis Curtis of Black Mountain, NC passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at Memorial Mission Hospital. Dennis was 68 at the time of his passing. He was a native of Marion, NC and the son of the late Raymond and Marrietta Burgin Curtis.
An avid craftsman, Dennis had multiple talents and was always looking for the next project. He enjoyed metalsmithing as well as making beautiful quality heirloom woodworks, jewelry and whatever else you could possibly imagine. He loved custom tools and was the “go to” guy when his sons (or anyone else) needed to know how to fix or make anything. Dennis worked as a manager in the industry field for the majority of his life and later became a restaurant owner. He loved his employees and his customers, many of which have become lifelong friends.
His friends will remember him as a good and faithful man who always had fun stories and gave great advice. His family will remember him as a wonderful husband and a loving, dependable and supportive father. His place on earth will never be filled but heaven is much more glorious by his presence.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Katie Deyton Curtis; daughter, Lily Curtis of the home; sons, Eric Curtis of Concord, NC, Jason Curtis and wife, Sarah of Snow Hill, NC; sister, Dixie Buckner and husband, J.D. of Marion, NC; his precious beloved dog, Lotti; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
