Homer Pitts

Homer Lee Pitts, 80, was born on February 7, 1938 in Blowing Rock, North Carolina.  He passed away at his home in Candler on November 11, 2018.   He leaves behind a large extended family and many loving friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Florence Baldwin Pitts, and sisters Margaret Cuzzetto and Grace Rice.

He is survived by his wife Martha Pitts of Candler, NC, daughters Kay Weaver of Chattanooga, TN, Angela Stamey of Candler, NC, and Sandy Trull of Candler, NC, stepsons Randy Anderson of Blairsville, Ga, Jerry Anderson of Indiana and three adopted children.  He is also survived by sisters Mabel Gray and family, Kitty Viands and family, and Rita Seagle and family, brothers Harold Pitts and family and Roger Thomas and family.  He was survived by grandchildren Cleda Anderson Green of Murphy, NC, Rachel Looney of Chattanooga, TN, Brook McIntosh of Candler, NC, Corey Swafford of Candler, NC, Anthony Trull of Alabama, and Michelle Swafford of Candler, NC.  He was also survived by six great-grandchildren.

Homer worked as an equipment operator in the construction industry for the better part of his working life.  He enjoyed building things and repairing small engines.  He loved going fishing with the love of his life Martha.

A drop-in Memorial Service will be held at Homer and Martha’s residence on December 1st between 11 AM and 5 PM.
