Jack Michael Berns made his transition Monday, August 30th, 2021. He was born on November 17, 1947 in London England, son of Clara and Woolfe Berns . Jack was raised and spent his early life in Montgomery Alabama, where he raised his 2 daughters and later moved to the mountains of North Carolina. Jack is survived by his eldest daughter, Kellie Berns. He was widowed 18 years by his wife Greer Berns, and recently mourned his departed daughter Hollis Berns.
Jack was a kind man, characteristically reserved, but he loved to engage in a good conversation with sincere interest and gusto. He was innately talented as an artist, a maker, a builder. He loved to piddle, to craft and put things together to make something new and unique. A loving and caring father and a good friend, his physical presence will be deeply missed by his loving daughter Kellie Berns.
He will be loved and remembered always by his sister Diane and his brother in law, John Baker. He is also survived by his 101 year old mother, Clara Berns. A large family, aunts, uncles, cousins and sincere friends who knew and appreciated him, will miss a unique man of our family.
A small intimate gathering to honor his passage will be held on September 12th in rural Virginia.
