Jaclyn “ Jackie” Snyder Houston passed away at Baptist Retirement Home in Asheville on April 23, 2019.
Jackie was born April 26, 1932 in Buncombe County to the late Jesse and Clenard Snyder and had lived in Morganton for the past sixteen years. She retired from a career of providing accounting services for several different businesses in Madison County. She enjoyed gardening for many years of her retirement, was an excellent seamstress and an avid reader. She always took time to be a homemaker and really enjoyed creating delightful treats from the kitchen. Her chicken and biscuits were legendary and will be sorely missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Paul and Fred; sisters Faye, Carmel and Jennie and son in law/friend Richie Rice in 2014.
She is survived by children Randy Houston , Penny Rice and Lynn Dymora (Eddie), sisters; Frieda Landers, Ann Stephens and Norma Moss; a brother Ronnie Snyder; grandchildren Aaron Rice, Natalie Rice, Adam Dymora (Joanna), Sarah Houston, Kate Dymora; great grandchildren Cole Dymora, Barrett Dymora and Luke Dymora as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service is planned. The family would like to thank Baptist Retirement Home for their excellent care, love and support during her last years.
