Joyce Ellen Wolfe Cerny, beloved mother, grandmother, slot machine master, restaurant connoisseur, and world traveler, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home, amongst family on June 28, 2020. She was born on October 3, 1934 in Shadyside, Ohio. She was the daughter of Henry Wolfe and Opal Marie Howard Wolfe. She graduated from Shadyside High School and worked as a real estate agent in Houston, Texas until she retired. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, travel, going out to eat, and spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Matthew Cerny of Waynesville, NC and Diana Newcomer of Fayetteville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother Henry, and sisters Pat, Nancy, Barbara, Reesa, her son Steven Cerny, and great granddaughter Raelyn Cutbirth.
Crematory services will be provided by A Simple Cremation in Candler, NC. The family requests a simple act of kindness in her memory. She was always trying to find ways to help when she was able. She is greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
