Fletcher, Mary Barnes Ogle, 84, passed away on February 12, 2021 at Advent Health of Hendersonville.
A native of Fletcher, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Helen Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David Branam; two brothers, Junior and Howard Barnes; three sisters, Nina Barnes, Shirley Surrett, and Barbara Bishop; and one grandson, Charles Dale Branam. Mary enjoyed working in her flower beds. She also loved crafting, yard sales, and flea markets. Most of all, she loved her family and church family. Mary was a devoted member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church for 18 years.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 26 years, Billy Ogle, of the home. She is also survived by a son, Roger Branam of Canton; two daughters, Linda Branam (Tim) of Candler, and Brenda Jordan of Fairview; two step-sons, Billy Ogle Jr. of Old Fort, and David Ogle (Denise) of Rock Hill, SC; three step-daughters, Tami Hudgins (Bobby) of Asheville, Tina Pierce (Ernie) of Swannanoa, and Judy Bradley of Swannanoa; three brothers, Willard Barnes, Charles Barnes, and Everette Barnes; three sisters, Betty Holt, Sandra Boyd, and Kathy Ollis; 59 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Asheville, N.C. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
