Shirley Russell

Canton – Shirley Trantham Russell, 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her residence.

Shirley was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Clayton and Hazel Rogers Trantham.  She was a 1958 graduate of Clyde High School, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Sonoma Chapter #254, having served as Worthy Matron, and a member of Beulah Baptist Church.  Shirley enjoyed her yard work and growing her flowers.  She also enjoyed classic cars and going to the Cruise-In at Enka.

She is survived by her husband, Carroll Russell; one sister, Zela Miller of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews.

At Shirley’s request, no services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 483 Sunset Circle, Canton, NC  28716.
