Steven M. Ellis

Steven M. Ellis, Sr., 60, of Flat Rock, North Carolina, departed from this life on November 23, 2024. He was born December 9, 1963, to the late Richard A. and Karen L. (Bennett) Ellis. In addition to his parents he is proceeded in death by, his stepdaughter Summer Stepp Crowe.

Steve worked most of his life as a construction worker, but for the last 4 years he worked at the Flat Rock Wood Room as a dishwasher. He loved fishing, sitting outdoors watching the fire he had built in his fire pit, when he wasn’t outside, he was watching Nascar racing, Dale Earnhardt Sr. was his favorite driver.

He is survived by his long-time partner and companion of 26 years, Debby Keeter; daughter, Cheyenne Ellis of Florida; sons, Cody Ellis of Florida, Steven Ellis Jr. of Flat Rock, Robert Ellis of Hendersonville, Wade Ellis of Hendersonville; step-son Joey Allman of Hendersonville; siblings, Rodney Ellis of Florida, Cindy Ellis of Florida, Richard Ellis of Rutherfordton, Becky Ellis of Hendersonville; uncle, Mike Bowlins; aunts, Janet Fryou and Rita Gordon; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as his canine friend of nine year Buddy.

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.

The family would like to thank the ICU department at Pardee Hospital, and the ICU 300 and 400 floors at Mission Hospital for their devoted care.

Steve, you will be missed so much!
