Teddy Morris Stroupe, 78, a native of Swannanoa, North Carolina and made Alexander, North Carolina his home for the past 13 years. He was the son of the late James and Donnie (MacMahan) Stroupe.
Teddy was retired firefighter for the City of Asheville, North Carolina, where he devoted a significant chapter of his life to serving the City of Asheville, where his unwavering commitment and bravery left an indelible mark on the community. He displayed immense courage and commitment to protecting his fellow citizens. Teddy was not only a hero in uniform but also a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army. His passions extended beyond his professional life; he found joy in sports, one of his proudest accomplishments was coaching youth sports for the Erwin Youth League, where he left a lasting impact on the young athletes he mentored and was the most incredible time of his life. Family was at the heart of Teddy’s life. He loved his family deeply and poured his heart into everything he did for them, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, courage, and dedication. He will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He is survived by his daughters; Tammy Earwood of Alexander, Erica Hoglen (and Chris) of Columbus, NC; son, Bobby Ferguson of Leicester; as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
