Walter Eugene Treadway Jr. formally known as Gene Treadway, was a machinist, state record holder in bowling, mentor to many, and friend to all died October 23, 2021, at his home in Candler North Carolina. He was 56.
He was born December 3, 1964, in Madison North Carolina to Walter Eugene Treadway Sr. and Marie Clark Treadway. Gene was a great family man and cherished his Wife, Tammy Holmes Treadway, daughters Colette Posey, Adriahna Martin and spouse Kandi Martin, and son/grandson Nathan Posey Treadway.
Gene touched so many lives throughout his life. His love for bowling helped him reached his goal of holding the state record and traveling to win tournaments. Nicknamed Phyton and known for his “wiggle waggle” right before he bowled a strike. He loved golfing with his best friend Lary, they referred to themselves as vicious and delicious. Gene told the craziest stories and jokes and could make anyone laugh with what he called “pretty moments”. Knowing no stranger and having many friends the world has lost a one-of-a-kind amazing man.
Friends and Family are invited to celebrate Gene Treadways life October 30, 2021 from 5pm to 7pm at Words of Life Tabernacle, 815 Glen Bridge Rd. Arden, NC 28704.
